Terms & Conditions

1. Scope

These Terms & Conditions apply to the use of the GroupUp app and all related services.

2. Contracting Party and Acceptance

The contracting party is GroupUp. By registering for an account and using the app, you agree to these Terms, including the user-generated content rules below (End User License Agreement / Community Guidelines).

3. User-Generated Content and Community Standards (EULA)

GroupUp includes user-generated content (e.g. profiles, messages, group and event information). The following applies:

  • Zero tolerance for objectionable content, harassment, hate speech, calls to violence, sexually explicit or otherwise inappropriate content, and abusive behavior toward other users.
  • Violations may result in content removal, account suspension or termination, and reporting to authorities where required by law.
  • In the app, you can report content and users and block other users to prevent abusive contact.
  • Reported content is reviewed by our team, typically within 24 hours; confirmed violations are removed or sanctioned.
  • Profile images and other uploads may be automatically screened for inappropriate content.

By creating an account, you confirm that you have read these rules and accept that there is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on GroupUp.

4. Use of the App

You agree to:

  • use the app only for legal purposes
  • not provide false or misleading information
  • respect the rights of other users
  • not distribute inappropriate content
  • not abuse or manipulate the app

5. User Accounts

You are responsible for the security of your account. You must keep your credentials confidential and notify us immediately of unauthorized use.

6. Groups and Events

When creating groups and events, you are responsible for the content. Inappropriate or unlawful content will be removed; accounts may be suspended (see Section 3).

7. Liability

We are not liable for damages arising from the use of the app, to the extent permitted by law. Liability is limited to intent and gross negligence.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time. We reserve the right to block or delete accounts for violations of these terms.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to change these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated to you in the app.

10. Applicable Law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods.
